Horses have been my life since 1998, and over the last couple of decades, I've learned a lot of things. Horses have always been my best teachers, and it stands to reason that a particular horse started my path into barefoot hoofcare. My first horse Prophecy, who's been with me since 1999, came up lame in 2006 at age 18. After the vet came and went a time or three with no improvement, he told me to retire her--and that's just not something to tell a teenager about her first pony. So, off came the shoes and down the booting rabbit hole... and to soundness! Just three months later we were camping in the mountains again. (Now in her thirties, Prophecy is doing fabulously.) After rehabbing most of our other horses over the years, as well as helping friends with their horses, I decided to pursue certification with the Progressive Hoof Care Practitioners and do this whole thing professionally. I have a passion for not just horses, but education, and I mix that in to everything I do. I love sharing my accumulated knowledge (there's twenty some-odd years of it, please help vent it out!), and I love owners who want to learn. Teaching trimming basics is yet something else I love to share.
